Driving Directions:From US 190 in Woodville, go 5.5 miles south on US 69. Turn left at 4190 US 69 and go 0.3 mile east-south on private driveway. From this point the cemetery is located on north bank of lake, approx. 0.2 mile northeast of driveway.Although this cemetery contains two relatively recent burials, it is highly endangered. The two graves are marked with a granite headstone and a metal funeral marker. The inscriptions read:AceGarrett L. PowersSept. 26, 1913Nov. 15, 1987Mary Elizabeth PowersMarch 2, 1916Nov. 18, 2002The cemetery is not a map feature and is located on private property. It is not fenced and does not appear to be maintained. There are no signs indicating a cemetery at this location. Local informants report that the graves are located on what was once the Powers' Ranch. However, following their deaths, the land was sold. The status of the property during the survey was unknown . |
