SB-C041 Bickley Family Cemetery USGS point3193-322 Bickley Family Cemetery.Recorded: SABI01—Parsons; Sabine Co Hist Soc, Rootsweb: From the courthouse in Hemphill take FM 83 East 1 block to State Hwy 87.Go North or Left 7 miles to Milam. At the intersection of Hwy 87 and Hwy 21 in Milam turn West or Left on Hwy 21 for 8.7 miles to FM 3448. Turn North or Right onto FM 3448 (only goes North) and go 1.8 miles to a narrow grassy road to the Left. This will be 0.1 mile past the end of the pavement. Turn West or Left onto this road and go 0.2 mile to the cemetery at the end of the road. The Cemetery has a cyclone fence and is fairly well kept. 56 graves, some with rock markers. Cem. Index.” THC site visit MB 6/30/04: S of CR 330, N of SH 21 off extension of FM 3448 at acute sharp bend in road, open fields to SW, farm residence, two gates, at sharp curve in road, currently near where gravel road changes to paved rd. From Go 1.9 miles to sharp curve, farm gates and pastures at one side, woodlands to the other. A small wooded lane leads straight from outside corner of roadway to SW for 0.2 miles, passing under large highline, lane curves to R. Cem. approx 950 ft from FM 3448 at end of lane. No sign on roadway. Formal fenced site, some diversity over time, including slabs, obelisks, iron bar (1880s) and fieldstone markers. Cedar marker trees, Oak, some Daylilies. No floral grave materials. Adjacent to large rolling hayfields and dense woodlands. Approx 0.3 acre. GPS 31.30.07.77767N –93.57.09.37052W.
