Driving Directions:From US 287 in Grapeland, go 3.4 miles west on FM 227. Turn left at CR 2170 and go 3.6 miles south. Turn right at cemetery sign and go 0.6 mile to 3rd gate. From 3rd gate go 585 ft. past vacant house, turn right just beyond house and go 360 ft. At this point, turn left, crossing small drainage, and go 608 ft. to cemetery, which is on hill top straight ahead.This cemetery is moderately endangered. It is not a map feature and is located in a very remote area on private property. It is fully fenced, maintained, and active. Cemetery signage is posted on CR 2170. Many of the metal funeral markers are damaged or fallen. During this survey, a large tree had recently fallen across the road at the third gate. If the tree had not fallen, it would have been possible to drive all the way to the cemetery, but because of the fallen tree, the surveyor had to walk approx. 0.25 mile. |
