Directions Driving Directions:From FM 227/FM 1272 junction in Grapeland, go 7.5 miles west on FM 1272. At the very end of FM 1272, where the pavement ends and it becomes CR 2265, turn right and go 1.8 miles north on CR 2290 (there is Antrim cemetery sign posted at intersection). Cemetery is pasture on northeast side of road. One marker is located on the shoulder of the road, outside fence. This cemetery is highly endangered. It is not a map feature, and it is located on private property. There are no cemetery signs or direct access from a public road. The cemetery is not fenced, and cattle graze freely within the cemetery. The majority of the graves are marked with fieldstones, but many of these have been displaced around by cattle. Other cemetery features include a ruinous masonry cairn and one in-place marble marker. There is a second, broken, marble marker outside the fenced property, on the shoulder of CR 2290. The marker was recently damaged by county workers trimming trees. The broken marker lies within a foot of the county road, which cuts substantially through the cemetery hill. It is very likely that some graves were destroyed by the road construction. The Mackleroy Cemetery is located approx. 0.4 mile east-southeast of the Antrim Cemetery, on the same property as the John Adams Gravesite.Note: the cemetery directions that were published in the 1987 edition of the Houston County Cemeteries Book are incorrect. In that book it states that the Mackleroy Cemetery is located 9 miles east-southeast of the Antrim Cemetery. The Mackleroy Cemetery is actually 0.4 mile east-southeast of the Antrim Cemetery.
