Driving Directions:From SH 7 between Berea and Kennard, go approx. 5.1 miles north on FM 1733. Turn left onto CR 1105 and go 1.2 miles west. Turn right at gate and go approx. 0.3 mile north following underground pipeline, which crosses Rosy Bayou. Go through gate on right (east) side of pipe line and go approx. 878 ft. north following fence row. At this point, the cemetery is located approximately 300 ft. to the east.The cemetery is highly endangered. It is not a map feature and is located on private property in a remote area. It is not accessible to the public. There are no cemetery signs posted. The cemetery is not fenced or maintained, but the current property owner has plans to fence and restore the cemetery. Although there is only one inscribed marker, there appears to be at least two additional graves. One of the potential graves has fieldstone curbing (or the remnants of a rock wall). The other potential grave is marked with a fieldstone. The inscribed marker, which is fallen and displaced, reads:William J. HearonCo. B13 Texas Cav.C.S.A. |
