In Kendleton on Hwy 59 S, go left on Lum Road after crossing Hwy 59 east. Turn right immediately after crossing Hwy 59 onto feeder or access road. About .8 to dead end. Go right on gravel road.1 mile. Located on fenceline of Allan Bates Park on San Bernard River. OR HWY 59 in Kendleton south to Charlie Roberts Road. East on Charlie Roberts Road to Allen Bates Park. Enter park on Allen Park Way. Follow SW to Newman Chapel Cemetery marked "grave site". From Newman Chapel Cemetery go 800' in a north westerly direction to cemetery in palmetto thicket.This site is on Bates M. Allen Park, owned by Fort Bend County, but it is not maintained. This site is overgrown and most of the markers have been knocked over or vandalized.
