Marker Text In 1902, William McCready set aside property for use as a church building. Doucette residents soon established a church and by 1908, Baptist and Methodist residents shared a sanctuary with Presbyterians also meeting there by 1910. The congregation consisted of members from all three denominations with ministers regularly rotating. Members focused particularly on mission work. In addition to worship services, the building also hosted weddings, funerals, social activities and town meetings. Though the sanctuary continued to be used for events, Doucette Union Church ceased to exist as each denomination moved to their own facilities.
