| Description |
The second Travis County Courthouse (also known as the Walton Building) stood at the southeast corner of Congress Avenue and 11th Street, opposite the Texas State Capitol. Based on the Second Empire Style, it was designed by pioneer architect Jacob Larmour. It's massive Mansard roof towers were embellished with ornate cupolas, chimneys and elaborate iron roof crestings. The towers reportedly became the home of a large bat colony before being removed. It was abandoned by the county in 1931, and burned in 1964. Cost $100,000.

| Modifications |
Converted 1931 by William E. Ketchum to state office building; towers removed in 1927. |
