| Description |
Constructed of limestone with sheet metal details in the Second Empire style. The building features double height windows, a bracketed cornice, four corner pavilions with mansard roofs and cresting, a full height portico topped with a bracketed broken pediment and supported by double fluted limestone columns, and a tall, central ornamental clocktower. A New Year's Day fire in 1996 destroyed all but the load bearing limestone walls. The courthouse was restored, reconstructed and rededicated in 1999. |
