Description Constructed of red brick with pink brick, cast stone and sheet metal details. The building features an elevated portico, pediments at the roof line of each facade, flat double height cast stone pilasters and a bracketed cornice.
Modifications September 25,1909: top two floors damaged by fire (legend?)reconstruction completed in 1910 according to original plans except that previous flat roof was changed to a hipped roof by County construction superintendent J.B. LewisDome removed in an 1938 remodeling- ISTEA Grant - restoration of the exterior grand staircase to the original winged configuration and replacement of the balustrade. Project scheduled to be let in Jan. 1998.
