Description Originally constructed in an Italianate style and constructed of brick with a central clock tower, the building has undergone major alterations, resulting in a simplified Moderne style building. Its massing is an overall pyramidal form, an assembly of two-, three-, and four-story blocks. It is generally symmetrical, with some asymmetrical elements. It is finished in a light-colored material, scored to align with window placement.
Modifications Building modernized in 1940 to Art Deco appearance. In 1970s, building was sheathed in metal, and known as 'state's ugliest courthouse.' 1991 renovations removed metal sheath, used dry-vit over stucco, and installed bronze anodized aluminum windows.
